Macrame hangers make plant maintenance very easy. There’s no turning or twisting involved when you need to remove or position your plants as there sometimes is with wire hangers. You simply pop your plants into and out of the hanger’s pockets.
Branch and Log Displays

Look for natural holes and crevices in the wood where you can anchor or position your plants without having to glue them or use wire. The abundant crevices in dry stone walls are also ideal for holding smaller air plants when creating mixed displays of small and large species.

Aesthetically, you can’t go wrong when mounting air plants to wall-mounted home decor, particularly if the mount is made of wood. An interesting piece of driftwood mounted on a wall with 3-5 air plants trailing along it can look very attractive.
I’m not sure what to call this enormous air plant holder. I love the design, it’s more like a piece of air plant furniture than a giant holder. It just goes to show what’s possible with a bit of imagination and some wood.
Depending on the depth of the holes you could easily use a similar design to display even larger Tillandsias.
Displaying Large Air Plants in Your Garden
This website mainly focuses on growing air plants in the home. However, if you live in a warm climate there is no reason why you shouldn’t grow and display your Tillandsias in your yard or garden. These Tillys look fantastic nestled in between the natural Y shape of this tree.
Don’t forget, air plants do not like cold drafts or winds and cannot tolerate frosts so place your plants in a sheltered location.
You can tie air plants to trees, fences, and even posts in your yard or garden. However, my favorite way to display Tillandsias outside is to hang them from porches and lean-tos so I can easily remove them if I need to.
